About Me

This is a picture of Kara Lynn sitting on a couch. Her hair is pulled back into a pony tail. She is wearing square blue glasses and smiling broadly. She is wearing a black tee shirt and a multi-colored cardigan sweater. She is sitting with a brown pug named, Chip.

I've always had a deep desire to understand people.
When I was a kid, my mom called me the “barometer of the family” because I could sense when something was off with someone. That sensitivity grew into a lifelong passion for helping others.

I earned my Master’s degree in Counseling from the University of North Dakota in 2011. For most of my career, I’ve provided career counseling to individuals with disabilities. As a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor, I specialized in supporting teens and adults as they navigated life transitions and career goals. I’ve worked extensively with neurodivergent clients (ADHD, Autism) and those with learning, physical, and mental health disabilities. These experiences gave me a deep understanding of the daily challenges many people face—and the resilience they carry.

Many of my clients achieved goals they never thought were possible. While I found this work incredibly rewarding, I felt a growing pull toward mental health counseling. In November 2024, I left my position to follow this calling. I'm currently working toward full licensure and receiving supervision from Kelly Haase, MA, LMFT. [Click here to learn more about Kelly or get in touch with her.]

I’m especially passionate about supporting individuals facing parenting or relationship challenges, anxiety, or life with ADHD—particularly women diagnosed later in life. As a neurodivergent person myself and the mother of two neurodivergent kids, I truly understand the struggle.

Life can be overwhelming and chaotic but you don’t have to navigate it alone. Together, we can help you feel more grounded and in control of your thoughts, feelings, and daily life, without judgement.
